The Liberal Democrats voting record on Gedling Borough Council

The Liberal Democrats voted against an inflation-busting 6% increase in councillor allowances in 2016- arguing that such an increase was not justified. More recently they voted against giving allowances to councillors who act as 'party business managers' -arguing that these allowances are party political in nature and shouldn't be paid for by the council tax payer.

They voted for the establishment of the Visitors' Centre at Gedling Country Park.

They voted against the abolition of Gedling Council with its replacement by a single County wide unitary authority. The latter would be too big, remote and would prevent local decision making.

Signed a letter along with other councillors in 2018 urging the government to increase funding for Nottinghamshire Police Force.

Liberal Democrats have always opposed the unfair council tax which is an unfair tax for those on a low income. The Liberal Democrats have consistently voted in favour of retaining the council's Council Tax Reduction Scheme which provides some financial relief for those worse affected by the unfair council tax.

Voted for the establishment of a Council point of contact for residents to access council services at Carlton Fire Station.

Backed plans by the Council to spend money to improve the appearance of Carlton Square shopping area.
