Liberal Democrats choose Julia Bateman for Gedling Constituency

3 Feb 2010

Gedling LibDems have chosen Julia Bateman as their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate.

Julia Bateman takes over from Ray Poynter who fought at the last General Election.

Having worked for a Libdem Parliamentarian and with a background in law, Julia is well placed to tackle the key issues affecting the area such as the need to effectively fight crime and ensure people feel safe on the streets and in their own home.

Commenting on her selection Julia Bateman said,

"I am delighted that Gedling Libdems have selected me to represent them at the General Election. I look forward to building on the hard-work of the team of local Councillors and activists in listening to residents and defending their interests. Together we will: fight for fair access to education through a major boost in funding; demand improved policing and crime prevention; tackle the proposed cuts that will affect elderly care services and waste recycling; and, work to ensure a reliable and effective local transport service for all in the area".
