Carlton East - John Flynn
John Flynn is our County Council candidate for Carlton East.
John Flynn has lived in Burton Joyce with his family for nearly 20 years. During this time, John has worked for a number of organisations in a variety of different areas, including IT and quality management. In his spare time, John is the Treasurer of a local Scout Group and an occasional contributor to the Nottingham Post, with articles on such topics as road congestion, river footpaths, bus services and train fares. Currently, John is the Chairperson of Gedling Liberal Democrats.
"As a permanent resident of Carlton East, I have taken an active interest in local issues, including more consultation with patients over mergers and closures of GP surgeries, street lighting, integrated public transport services, extension of the Nottingham Tram to Gedling Borough, proposals for gravel digging along the Trent, and local library services. My sustained campaign to improve local rail services at Carlton, Netherfield and Burton Joyce is gradually bearing fruit. To reinforce my interest in transport, I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport."
